Judas Priest, England's sensational heavy metal artists are bringing their signature sounds to the Riverside Theater!
Judas Priest was formed in 1969 in the Black Country (a region of the West Midlands in England) by guitarist K.K. Downing, bassist Ian Hill, vocalist Alan Atkins, and drummer John Ellis. The band's been through many line up changes over the years and it currently consists of Ian (bass and backing vocals), Glenn Tipton (guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals), Rob Halford (lead vocals), Scott Travis (drums), and Richie Faulkner (guitar and backing vocals). Their musical style is best described as a blend of hard rock (a loosely defined subgenre of rock music featuring heavy use of aggressive vocals, distorted electric guitars, bass guitar, drums, and often accompanied with pianos and keyboards) and heavy metal (a subgenre of rock that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s and features a thick, massive sound, characterized by highly amplified distortion, extended guitar solos, emphatic beats, and overall loudness). They’ve had a stellar career with 17 studio albums, 6 live albums, 6 compilation albums, 33 singles, 17 music videos, 10 video albums, and they've sold close to 50 million records worldwide. They won the 2010 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. Their latest album (Firepower) comes out in early 2018.
