He began his career as a scriptwriter and a cast member in the 1963 Footlights Revue A Clump of Plinths and made a name for himself with his work on the The Frost Report; a satirical television show hosted by David Frost and ran for 28 episodes on the BBC from March 1966 to December 1967. Monty Python and the Holy Grail is a 1975 slapstick comedy film that parodies the legend of King Arthur's quest to find the Holy Grail. It’s grossed more than any British film shown in the US in 1975 ($5 million from a budget of $400,000) and Rotten Tomatoes has called it “a cult classic as gut-bustingly hilarious as it is blithely ridiculous.”
